Intelligent Partnership release the EIS industry report 2016/17

Intelligent Partnership have released their EIS industry report 2016/17 that identifies positive changes in the EIS sector that Edition Capital are well positioned to take advantage of:

  • Media and entertainment remains one of the most popular sectors to receive investment through the EIS scheme
  • Almost three in four advisers see their use of EIS increasing over the next two years
  • A growing number of advisers are prioritising EIS qualifying opportunities that focus on growth, in line with 'growth and development' rules

Due to the changes in EIS legislation in 2015, the report acknowledges that there are less EIS products available and coupled with restrictions to other tax efficient investments, it is likely that EIS demand will outstrip supply this year.
