UK Music, the organisation that represents the live music sector in the UK has launched its annual report on the effect of live music on the UK economy.

The report is positive reading for the industry as music tourism generated £4bn in direct and indirect spending in 2016 and we have seen the number of festival attendees increase by 6% on the previous year to just under 4 million people.

The number of overseas music tourists coming to the UK has also increased by 7% on the previous year to 823,000, further demonstrating the UK’s attractiveness as a live music destination.
